Deputy Burmaster recently received the Life Saving Award at the Oklahoma Sheriffs Association conference held last month. He was given this award for saving the life of an individual in Craig County.
Welcome to the Craig County Sheriff's Office
The Craig County Sheriff’s Office has a vast history in northeast Oklahoma dating back to the county’s founding in 1907.
Deputies patrol 761 square miles of county roads. Craig County is bordered by the following counties: in Kansas: Labette and Cherokee County to the north and northeast; and in Oklahoma: Ottawa County to the east, Delaware County to the southeast, Mayes County to the south, Rogers County to the southwest and Nowata County to the west.
The county’s coverage area includes the following towns: Big Cabin, Bluejacket, Vinita, Ketchum and Welch. Unincorporated areas include Centralia and White Oak.
Under Sheriff Heath Winfrey’s leadership, the sheriff’s office staff and deputies strive to be hardworking, honest and accountable to the people of Craig County.
