Undersheriff Tony Chenoweth

Craig County Undersheriff, Tony Chenoweth, joined Sheriff Heath Winfrey's administration in January 2017.

His law enforcement career includes serving with the Vinita Police Department for more than 20 years, including 18-1/2 years as the Lt. Detective before his retirement in June 2015.

In January 2017, Chenoweth returned to law enforcement to serve under Sheriff Heath Winfrey in order to continue being a community servant. Later that year in November, 2017 he received his Advanced Law Enforcement Certificate.

A life-long resident of Craig County, Chenoweth and his wife of 39 years, have two sons, two daughter-in-laws, and three grandchildren. Chenoweth retired from the Welch Volunteer Fire Department after 30-plus years of service. He is a 1980 graduate of Welch High School.

“My favorite thing to do is to spend time with the grandkids, especially watching them play sports,” Chenoweth said.
