Craig County Sheriff Sales

Officials with the Craig County Sheriff’s Office are legally mandated to sell foreclosed properties as set forth in state statute.

The property lists are updated on an as-needed basis as sales are received at the sheriff’s office. Properties to be offered at the sale taking place in six weeks are added and the properties that were offered on the previous sale are removed.

To prevent the sale of a property, it is the plaintiff’s responsibility to submit any notice of recall to the sheriff’s office prior to the date of the scheduled sale.

Foreclosed property sales typically take place at 10 a.m., or 1p.m., Monday to Thursday*, as need to meet legal requirements at the Craig County Sheriff’s Office. This schedule may be altered due to legal holidays or severe weather. Any auctions postponed will take place on the first business day that follows. Persons are encouraged to check back on a regular basis for changes and recalls.

*Note: Craig County Sheriff’s Office employees reserve the right to set a different time as requested by the plaintiff’s attorney.
